When visiting Destin or 30a, most people go first for beach front, and it’s easy to see why – but this time, we wanted something different. We spent a weekend staycation at this gorgeous private paradise nestled along Camp Creek Lake on Hwy 30a and here’s exactly why we loved it.
This SkyRun Vacation Rental Property feels secluded, down a dead-end road perfect for peace, quiet, and privacy. It has a large driveway to accommodate plenty of vehicles, and easy load in straight up the stairs. Once inside, it has a warm, log cabin vibe that we couldn’t get enough of. The inside was spacious with tall ceilings and an open floor plan, with a master bedroom / bathroom on the main level, two bedrooms / one bathroom upstairs, and a fourth bedroom / bathroom on suite under the main level with its own outside entrance.
But the best part of all? The spacious deck off the back of the home, overlooking the lake and the private dock down below. Walk out to a beautiful view, with couches surrounding an outdoor gas fire feature, and watch the sunset over the lake. We spent most of our time hanging out on the deck because we couldn’t get enough of the view!
If you take a walk down the steps towards the water, you can access the dock for fishing, paddle boarding, kayaking, and more. A grill was also included which came in handy for the nights we stayed in for dinner.
In terms of location, you are just minutes from Scenic Hwy 30a. We were able to walk from the house straight down the road and were on Hwy 30a in minutes. The sidewalks lining either side of the road make walking or biking easy exercise. It’s also closely located to some restaurants, bars and grocery store, all within 10 minutes of the property.
There is also a beach access available for those staying in this property, but it’s recommended that you make the short drive over.
Overall we LOVED how cozy the home was, how spacious the inside felt and how the open floor plan let us all hang out together without feeling cramped. The 30a location worked well for what we needed and we would 100% stay there again.
