We recently completed a little staycation at one of our favorite places, doing all of our favorite things (eat, sleep, beach, repeat) and were instantly reminded why we LOVE Destin Gulfgate. First and foremost.. THE VIEWS!
Every single one of their units faces the Gulf of Mexico and has a view like this. Not only that, but the balconies are very spacious with multiple areas to sit and relax. It was the perfect place to start the day while enjoying my coffee, or to end the day during a stunning sunset. The views here are one of the *best* reasons to book a stay!
Getting checked in was also a SUPER easy process. The front desk at Destin Gulfgate is staffed by REAL people who are so helpful in getting you everything you need! Even when checking in after hours, I still was able to speak with someone that day who walked us through directions for the most seamless procss.
We also love the layout / floor plan of each unit. The master and living room open up to the balcony with a view, and the unit as a whole feels very spacious and open. Tons of space to gather and hang out as a group! Each unit has a washer / dryer too, which we really appreciated.
To spend our days, we had the choice between the private beach (which, I should add, is NEVER crowded) or the pool which overlooks the beach. Every unit comes with beach chair service, which is a huge bonus as you don’t have to lug your own chair to the sand. We checked in at the booth when we got down to the sand and he showed us to our reserved chairs. It was so easy! We never once felt crowded – the private beach at Destin Gulfgate has tons of room for everyone.
The pool was just as accessible, with the entrance right next to the beach so if your kids wanted to swim in the pool, you still felt like you could enjoy the view. It was also very kid friendly with shallow water and a play area.
Lastly – Location! It was in the center of Destin, just steps from the Back Porch Restaurant and the Candymaker, as well as just across the street from The Track. Tons of family friendly activities nearby! I spent a lot of time on the balcony, enjoying the views and getting some work done. I was ready to move in by the end of the weekend!
One of the best things we did during our stay was to pre-order our groceries and have them delivered to us. Be My Shopper did all the shopping for us AND was able to get into our condo before we arrived. All the groceries were put away neatly and it was SUCH a nice surprise to have everything there! Cannot recommend Be My Shopper enough — 10/10 would use again!
