It’s officially October – the best month to visit our Emerald Coast, for a variety of reasons. From colorful sunsets, to cooler weather, to a multitude of events, it truly is the best time of the year.
Many events are happening along the Destin Harbor in October, including our favorites, the Destin Seafood Fest and the Destin Fishing Rodeo. Visiting these events means you could make a day out of Destin Harbor activities. We’ve got all the ideas here for your October Fun on the Harbor!
Parasailing
One of the most underrated activities, parasailing is a way for you to get a few seconds of peace and quiet, while enjoying breathtaking views. Board your boat on the Destin Harbor, soar high above the Destin coastline and even have your toes dipped in the water!
Seablaster Dolphin Tour
Hang with some locals on a dolphin cruise! Board the Seablaster by AJs on the Harbor and cruise the Harbor and the Gulf of Mexico looking for pods of dolphins. While the tour is fun for all ages, adults can enjoy cocktails included in your price. Don’t miss our discounted tickets!
Fishing Rodeo Weigh Ins
Open every day from 10am-7pm, find the weigh in scale behind AJs Destin on the Harbor. The weigh ins are free to attend and fun for all ages! Stop by for the chance to see a monster fish on the scales. Anglers need to be fishing on a registered boat to participate, and every kid who weighs a fish in leaves with a rod, reel, and a photograph of their catch.
Fishing
Destin is known as the luckiest little fishing village, which means there are a multitude of ways to fish along the Harbor. The most affordable option is a party boat, where anglers can spend all day fishing for less than $100. Weigh in your catches at the Rodeo after your trip to see if you’ve won!
Destin Tikis
Take your boat ride experience up a level with a ride on a Cruisin’ Destin Tiki! These 6 seat Tiki Boats will cruise the Harbor at sunset or out to Crab Island – your choice! Board on the Harbor and BYOB for your cruise. Reservations required!
Boathouse Oyster Bar
A must stop on the Harbor, the Boathouse is an open-air bar and grill with live music every day. Grab some lunch (they’re known for their oysters and gumbo!) and a beer, listen to some tunes and enjoy the view of the water in between activities!
Jet Ski Rental
Maybe a jet ski is more your speed! Rent one on the Harbor for a chance to sight see on your own. They can be rented by the hour for as long as you need!
Kayak Rentals
For some slower paced fun, a kayak for two might be just your speed. Rent a kayak and cruise the harbor exploring Destin’s beautiful nature and wildlife up close and personal!
Magic Show
A magic show on the Harbor is a great way to end your night! Another all ages activity, enjoy magic tricks paired with improv and jokes for an over the top show. Advanced tickets required as this show is usually a sell out!
